Information for COVID-19 ( Coronavirus) COVID-19

The health and safety of our school community is very important to us!  We are closely monitoring the information available for COVID-19 and are staying up to date with the latest guidance from the Department of Public Health (DPH), the CDC and top state agencies.  Should an outbreak occur in our community, we will follow the guidance of the DPH and the CDC.

*We have participated in the statewide webinar directed by the Governor, Department of Public Health, the Department of Education and other agencies. 

*We have met with our local EMA Director, Public Health Department, Hospital and County representation to review, update, and implement emergency operations plans (EOPs). .  The best protections for COVID-19 are the same as those for FLU:

WASH YOU HANDS with soap for 20 seconds (sing two rounds of Happy Birthday song)

Keep your hands away from your face

COVER COUGHS AND SNEEZES with your elbow or tissue (and throw away the tissue

STAY HOME WHEN SICK 

Return to school/work only when FEVER-FREE WIITHOUT fever-reducing MEDS for 24 hours.

Washington-Wilkes Comprehensive High School is proud to announce that Donovan Anthony, Class of 2020, has received a full scholarship to the United States Military Academy at West Point.

African American Scholar Recognition Program

Each year Augusta University holds the African American Scholar Recognition Program to recognize high school seniors who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement. In recognition of this event, an Augusta University Certificate of Academic Achievement is presented to these students. This award is given to the top three African American students of the senior class at selected schools. We are proud to honor Nariah Climons, Lyneishia Watts, and Jayla Wilcox.

WWCHS Tiger Time

Tiger Time

(WWCHS After-school program)

 

The Tiger Time after-school program runs each week on Tuesdays through Thursdays from 3:15-4:30 every afternoon, and snacks are included. Students can use the time to read, work on homework, receive tutoring, work on projects, or even quietly play games. The school even provides transportation. Anyone interested in the program can contact the high school’s front office.
